"...Grenades; check. Static Pistol; check. Boreloader; check."
Nova sat cross legged with her supplies fanned out before her, a plasma lamp illuminating her surroundings with a dull blue light. Her silver thermal optic poncho rippled as she reached out and picked up her standard issue Boreloader rifle. She slid a new magazine into the weapon and laid it across her lap. Her shoulder-length red hair danced around her neckline along with the goggles resting over her collar as she replaced the rectangular rifle to the ground.
"Check list complete." She said. "We're ready, AL." Lines of text scrolled over her bright blue eyes. "Right." She nodded. "We're ready."
She looked up, the bright orange moon hung in the sky, taking up most of the horizon. Streams of bright, luminescent green and yellow streaked the endless abyss of stars above a vast and verdant forest that lay below the cliff Nova sat upon. A few random towers and buildings emerged from the sea of trees as a silver river cut through them.
Nova looked back up, noticing the black spots in front of the moon. More text scrolled across her eyes and she put on her goggles. Through a grid-like screen she watched the black dots grow as AL zoomed in on them. They were ships, stolen barges turned warship that belonged to the Inquesta.
More text scrolled over her eyes and she nodded. "They're right on time." She smiled. "Leave it to Inquesta agents to stick to a compromised schedule."
She removed her goggles and stood as bright red streaks appeared in the distant sky, signs of life boats descending through the atmosphere. She quickly and efficiently packed away her supplies, she holstered her Static Pistol and slung her Boreloader over her shoulder.
"Alright, AL," She began, "Let's hunt."
She picked up the plasma lamp and turned it off, flooding her with darkness. The whir of gears and mechanics filled her ears as a few dim lights appeared in the corner of her vision. Her towering mech rose to it's feet, hefting it's massive machine gun and she could smell the ozone from the jets on its feet and back as they flared to life.
The game was on.

All Shall Recede
Sand Castles will succumb
To the tides of tomorrow,
And the dandelion’s seeds
Are at mercy to the winds.
The sea ice is melting,
Meanwhile forests fall.
In an eventual anomaly,
The Moon will break adrift.
Somehow and someday,
All will fade away.
Children break off from parents
Just as chicks will leave the nest.
Development of independence
Breeds beginnings and ends.
We grow old and decompose
In a relative nanosecond
In contrast to space time;
Fascinatingly frightful.
However strongly we wish to deny;
Eventually all must bid goodbye.
Departure is unfortunate,
Regretful yet required.
Life is forged from greetings
Then propelled by fa

Piano
She learned to play her piano
When she was just but three -
Her songs were light, inspiring,
And always full of glee.
She lost a key when she was six,
Another’s she ‘came 8,
But never played them, anyway:
They were a kind of weight.
So she thought not upon them,
And instead, she let them go.
No need to have them take up space
For songs she didn’t know.
Her songs became more beautiful,
As she did, at fifteen,
But there came errors: body changed,
Mind same - she, caught between.
The boyfriend she picked was her first;
To him, she was his four.
And when he left, she was bereft -
3 more keys met the floor.
The songs she pla
Literature
Storm Ravaged Hope
Petals are a scatter
Across rain torn grass,
Vines caressing leaves
Fallen from bare trees
To the right, the garden
Holds a scene of crush -
Remains of rose petals
Create a scene of red
Shimmering beneath
Lightning strikes
One blood red petal fallen
For every death occurred
In this unknown village
But there in the midst
Lies a rose of black,
Drenched in sorrow
From its very tip
To the loose roots
Remained in the soil
A few darkened petals
To remember our losses,
But a living death
Meant for true hope

Something I dreamt up whilst at work today. I may give a few more details pertaining to Nova and AL but for now this is just a teaser.
Enjoy and let me know what you think!

Very nice prose, but I'm wondering what the title is meant to mean, or will that be revealed later?
