Literature Text

He was not
The hero she wanted

Nor
The champion she desired

He was, however,
The savior she needed

He offered his hand and
She accepted it

She followed him through
Countless battles

Waded through
Rivers of blood

She detested this city
Her cage and prison

She held no love
For it or it's people

But when she finally escaped
She turned to face it once more

She saw the city ablaze and
Towers of corpses rose to the sky

She then wondered
Was her freedom worth it?
Not much to say here, just a random thought I had.

I believe you said a lot here. What a powerful last stanza, a question that is asked - and the answer is most often "No". There are exceptions, are there not? Sometimes sacrifices must be made. But nobody wants to be the sacrificial lamb. Well, a few people are turned into that, with a device strapped to them, a switch ready to hand.

One thing: you wrote "wadded through", but you meant to write "waded through", correct? ~ Cheers! :)
